NASCAR Experience, 2003

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines!

In September of 2003, Impact XXI sponsored a unique event in Charlotte, North Carolina: A day of NASCAR racing hosted by Norm Miller and Joe Gibbs. Norm Miller is the Chairman of Interstate Batteries, a NASCAR sponsor. Joe Gibbs is a Super Bowl winning coach and owner of the Joe Gibbs NASCAR Racing team which features #20 Tony Stewart and #18 Bobby LaBonte, both former Winston Cup champions.

Participants got a personal behind-the-scenes tour of the garage. They met Winston Cup champion Bobby LaBonte. They also got a chance to drive (or be driven) around the racetrack in authentic NASCARS at speeds of 145-165 mph. After that, they had dinner and a chance to hear from top leaders who described how their faith has had an impact on their personal lives, how they run their businesses, and what social issues they are tackling. Those sharing were: Kerry Bradley, chairman of Lenscrafters, Inc., the most profitable business in America (as a percentage); Doris McMillon, actress and former ABC News Anchor woman in the Washington D.C area; and two-sport champion, Joe Gibbs. Guests were accommodated at the Hilton Charlotte University Place.
