Dave HannahChairman & CEO IMPACT XXI Dave joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ in 1964 and founded Athletes in Action. He directed Athletes in Action (AIA) for 22 years. During those years the AIA basketball team defeated the Russian Olympic team five times, represented the United States at the World Championships, and placed a number of athletes on the U. S. Olympic team with four athletes winning gold medals. While with AIA, Dave spoke to more than two million students in high school assemblies. For three years he had his own radio program, Great Moments in Sports , which aired on more than 200 stations nationwide. He also produced a two-year national basketball television series. Under Dave's direction, Athletes in Action expanded into many countries around the world. In addition to writing many articles, Dave founded the Athletes in Action magazine. He also served as founder and president of the Memphis American Pro Soccer Team and for three years coached the kickers on a volunteer basis for the University of Colorado football team. From 1990 - 2003, Dave gave leadership to History's Handful, a strategy to raise one billion dollars to take the message of Jesus Christ around the world. History's Handful partners gave over $350 million and pledged another $600 million to help accomplish the task. In February 2003, Dave shifted his efforts full-time to building IMPACT XXI. IMPACT XXI is a movement of people of influence from around the world partnering together to provide lasting solutions to the major issues of the twenty-first century. Dave and his wife, Elaine, have two married sons and three grandchildren. |
